Sizing & Measuring

Using our tried and tested measurement methods, you'll find measuring yourself for made-to-measure clothing easy! In fact, we guarantee to make to your garments to the exact measurements you give us and will alter or replace any garments should you not be 100% satisfied with you order.

If possible get a friend to measure you - keep the tape measure taut but not tight. Do not be tempted to make allowances.

Men's Trouser Measurement

AA Measure waist around the natural waistline.

BB Measure Hips. Measure your seat over the widest part, usually approximately 8 inches below the waistline.

AC Measure outside leg. Position trouser waist at required body height, measure from the top of the waistband down outside leg seam to desired length.

DE Measure inside leg. Stand with feet slightly apart and measure from crotch to required length.

CE Bottom width. Specify bottom circumference required.



Extra Measurements for Breeks, Plus two's and Plus four's

XY Measure inside leg.to 2" below knee or more if preferred. Breeks are exact to your measurement, we will allow for the fold over on plus two's and plus four's.

Z Round Leg. Measure around the leg at the point where you measure inside leg (XY).


Trouser styles

We offer a variety of trouser styles for you to choose from, in addition to breeks, plus four's and plus two's we offer four styles for standard trousers.

Traditional A comfortable style particularly suitable for the fuller figure. Adjustable side straps with an extension waistband, two slant side pockets and one hip pocket to button. Four front pleats. Inside brace buttons. Zip fly is standard (button fly on request).

Classic A plain fronted trouser with belt loops two slant side pockets and one hip pocket to button, zip fly is standard (button fly on request).

Sports A plain fronted trouser with belt loops, two frog-mouth front pockets and one hip pocket to button. Zip fly is standard (button fly on request).

New Style An up-to-date (easy fitting) trouser with two slant side pockets and one hip pocket to button. Featuring two reverse pleats each side, belt loops, zip fly and plain bottoms (turn ups on request).


Breeks Breeks are ideal for outdoor activities. There is normally no fold over on the legs of breeks. usual features are 2 slant side pockets, 2 hip pockets, belt loops and velcro leg fastening. No addition is made to your inside leg measurement (XY) on breeks.

Plus Two's Plus two's are a traditional garment for golf and shooting. There is normally a 2 inch fold on the legs of Plus Two's. Usual features are 2 slant side pockets, 2 hip pockets, belt loops and velcro leg fastening. Four inches is added to your inside leg measurement (XY) on Plus Two's to allow for the fold over. (Pleats are available on request).

Plus Four's Plus four's are wider and longer than Plus two's with the same features. Eight inches is added to your inside leg measurement (XY) on plus four's to allow for the fold over. (Pleats are available on request).
